Damon Connolly is Sworn in as Assemblymember for District 12

SACRAMENTO, CA – Damon Connolly was sworn in as the Assemblymember for District 12 today in the State Capitol. The newly elected Assemblymember will represent Marin County and Southern Sonoma County.

“I am honored that the voters of the North Bay have elected me to be their local voice in Sacramento,” said Assemblymember Connolly. “I look forward to strengthening wildfire prevention, addressing drought and the climate crisis, housing and homelessness, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring reproductive rights are protected in the Golden State. Let's get to work!”

Damon has been a champion for the North Bay for 18 years. Before serving on the Board of Supervisors for Marin County, Damon served as the Vice Mayor of San Rafael, a two-term San Rafael City Councilmember, former School Board President, and former California Deputy Attorney General helping to hold corporations accountable by prosecuting the energy companies that gouged our state during the energy crisis of 2000-2001. He was also a founding board member of Marin Clean Energy (MCE) and served as Chair of the Board of Directors from June 2011 to November 2014.

Damon is a Bay Area native; he attended college and law school at UC Berkeley. He has lived in San Rafael for twenty-five years with his wife, Dawn, and their two daughters.
