Connolly gets Eleven Bills Signed into Law

Assemblymember Connolly completed his third legislative session with eleven of twelve bills that reached the Governor’s desk signed into law.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblymember Damon Connolly (D-San Rafael) has successfully passed 11 bills out of the legislature, which were signed into law by Governor Newsom. These new laws will strengthen protections for vulnerable communities, ensure equity in schools, and increase environmental sustainability in California. 

“I am proud to have this robust bill package signed into law, as it targets some of the most important priorities for my district," said Assemblymember Connolly. “My legislative package addresses critical issues impacting Californians, ranging from wildfire insurance, increasing mobilehome resident protections, and providing educational equity for immigrant students. I am deeply thankful for the support from our community and look forward to continuing to create a safer, more equitable California.”

The following bills authored by Assemblymember Connolly have passed the legislature and have been signed into law by Governor Newsom:

  1. AB 1: Strengthens the Safer from Wildfires program, which offers insurance discounts to people taking steps to harden their homes.
  2. AB 14 (Joint-author): Expands the Protecting Blue Whales and Blue Skies program to reduce whale strikes and air pollution
  3. AB 258: Increases future funding for fairs to improve operation and emergency response.
  4. AB 419: Requires schools to post the California Attorney General’s Immigration-Enforcement Actions at California Schools Guide for Students and Families in the administrative building and on the website.
  5. AB 456: Improves the buying and selling process for mobilehome owners, ensuring that the process is completed in a timely manner and without interference.
  6. AB 754: Preserves renter protections and improves infrastructure funding in Marin County’s floating homes.
  7. AB 806: Provides mobilehome park residents the right to install cooling systems within their homes.
  8. AB 947: Ensures that all farmers can access the Healthy Soils Program, promoting climate-smart farming practices across California.
  9. AB 1096: Ensures that the public has access to vital information about lead levels in drinking water in California's schools and child care facilities.
  10. AB 1177: Improves CalFIRE staffing, so they can better respond to emergencies.
  11. AB 1459: Updates unified hazardous waste and hazardous materials management regulatory programs.
